Our detour took us through Solvang

We hardly stopped on the way and made it to Big Creek before dark. This new berm is intended to slow falling boulders and has recently been planted with native plants.

This private property cottage was built by Native Americans for the Seattle World Fair in 1962, and later moved to Big Creek.

We thought this deer might have been killed by a mountain lion but it turned out to be a roadkill dragged down to the beach by coyotes.
