Experiment 1 results:

The investigators sacrificed transduced mice on different days and took tissue samples from various organs. The total cellular DNA was then isolated and hybridized to a radiolabeled human factor IX probe. Radiolabeled DNA sequence, (probe), bound to any complementary sequences in the sample can then be detected by autoradiography. Each panel represents an individual mouse and the letters represent the day the tissue sample was taken: a) day 1, b) day 3, c) day 7 d) day 35, e) day 91. Lanes 1-4 contain 1, 5, 20 and 100pg of pSSV9-MFG-hFIX plasmid mixed with total DNA from a naïve mouse. Lane 5 is liver DNA from a naïve mouse. Lanes 6-14 contain DNA from the tissue of the AAV-treated mice.
