The horn shark can be found Point Conception to the Gulf of California, and possibly Ecuador and Peru.  They are usually found on rocky bottoms around kelp beds 2-150m deep.  They hand out on the bottom blending in with the rocks and sand.  They have also been found hiding out during the daylight in rock crevices and small caves.
